The Nebraska State Retirement Office provides benefit estimators for use as an educational tool to help you plan for retirement. The estimators calculate monthly pension amounts for School plan members.
NPERS conducts statewide Preretirement Planning seminars for School plan members and spouses, age 50 and over. Each eligible employee is entitled to receive leave with pay to attend up to two retirement planning programs. Scroll down to School and click on School Schedules.

The Nebraska Public School Employees Retirement plan is a defined benefit plan. After termination and reaching retirement age, vested members may apply for benefits in the form of a monthly annuity (pension), paid for their lifetime. Unvested members are not eligible to receive a monthly pension but may request a refund of their contributions.
